Summary: On Thursday, November 26, 2015, chefs from all over the world were invited to The Rock in Jamaica to try various Jamaican dishes and get an overall sense of the true essence of Jamaican food and it's culture. Not only were there amazing dishes offered to each chef but a variety of Jamaican music was playing and at their disposal. For their fulfillment, there were several stands with varying types of Jamaican food. Some of these types were: jerk lamb kebabs, fresh jelly coconuts, and even jerk-spiced oxtail lasagna; all while multiple bands to center stage.
Personal Opinion: I myself would now enjoy trying every dish mentioned and desire embarking on a trip to Jamaica. The article makes the festival sound upbeat and uplifting; it also paints Jamaican food in a very delicious light and entices the reader to try the experience for themselves. However, it doesn't go into very much detail about the bands that were attending the festival and performed.
Analysis: This festival is highly significant to the culture of this country in that it exposes the rest of the world to some of the things this culture can offer. It also advertises the food there and could possibly boost the economy as more and more tourists may now decide to visit there. In addition, it helped this culture express itself and get a chance to show others why it is so different and exciting to be engulfed in it.
